Believe it or not, brick walls go back thousands of years. While the basics of building a wall are easy to understand and may seem simple, it takes a lot of practice and proper technique. You need to have the right mortar consistency and the right brick/block material. For example, there are three basic types of bricks:
- Bricks that can withstand direct contact with the ground and moisture (which is needed for foundations and patios),
- Bricks that can withstand freezing temperatures
- Bricks for interior work.
I have been building brick walls for over 30 years.
